Gaspe sketches

Two sketches from our trip to the Gaspe in July.  The second is done in water soluable colored pencil which allows one to sketch in color on the spot without having to carry paints and without the clean up problems of carrying paints. 



Into the blue

As a little girl I was always fascinated by the way the road at the top of a hill, or on a curve seemed to end and go off into the sky.  It felt as if we might suddenly become airborn where the road appeared to end.

The number and date in the upper left corner refers to a photo on my digital camera that relates to this sketch.  The problem is that the photo no longer exists as is was part of a file of 3636 photos that I accidentally deleted from my camera before I had a chance to download them. I still feel sick at my stomach when I think about it. 

I'm sketching again

I love the delicate fronds of the tall grasses when they go to seed in the fall.
